THOUGHTS FOR A SCHOOL

THOUGHTS FOR A SCHOOL

A school is a place, an excuse for learning, doing and growing. Life is growth. To grow is to use our hearts, minds and brains. It is true for us and obviously and especially true for children.

A child is endowed with a deep hunger and thirst for knowledge, for discovery, for exploring, for trying out, for asking question and wondering about this incredible world. It is pronounced in every child. Don’t go by his outward persona – especially when it comes to a child. Scratch the surface, and he comes out.

So, what is our role?

It is to discover this child and do our utmost best to expose him to things, to help him master things, if he is weak in some areas, to go slow yet challenging him on his level and have the utmost respect for him.

We need to understand the depth of our field and subject.
This is most important. The child needs to get excited and make sense.

A child, every child, needs to have precious, private moments where he is struck by discovery, beauty – like a light lit up inside.

Moments like these applied. Over a period of time gives rise to a sensitive, feeling adult.
We should have such moments ourselves. It is such things that gives the miraculous touch that heels and transforms a child.

We must sensitize ourselves to our world and give ourselves such moments and this happens when we struggle in our effort to open our eyes and then we see the child – the happy, independent, unfettered soul, living for the moment and then there is no problem really to love and respect from within us. This in a way  gives immense flame and sure results!
